COMMON QUESTIONS THAT LIBRARIANS ASK:

What age is your library program appropriate for?   My summer library programs are designed for children ages 4-12 and fun loving adults.   Younger children are more than welcome to attend but you'll want to make sure that the majority of kids are at least 4 years old. How long is the program and what all does it include?  My summer library program is approx. 45 minutes and includes amazing magic tricks, hilarious storytelling, music and lots of audience participation.  Does the program tie in with the Texas library theme?   My progam always ties in with the theme for the year.  Each summer I bring an all new program to libraries across Texas that is totally different than the previous year. How many children can attend the program?  I've presented my library programs to groups as small as 20 children and as large as 500.  There really is no minimum or maximum number of children than may attend! How much space do you need?  My program does not require much space at all.  A meeting room is perfect but not required.  I can also perform in the middle of the library if I need to.  I like to have the kids sitting on the floor a few feet in front of me.   What do we need to provide for the program?  I'll bring everything I need including a specially designed table, a sound system with wireless microphone and my own music system.   All I need from you is a parking space, an electrical outlet and a group of kids.  When will you arrive to setup for the program?  I will arrive approx. 30 minutes prior to the program start time.   It only takes me about 10 minutes to prepare for the program! When is payment due?  I like to have a check at the program if at all possible but I can always work with you on this if it needs to be mailed after the program.  Whatever your payment policy is,  I can usually work with you.  How much do you charge?  When it comes to finding the right library performer,  I know that you've got many choices.  Let me say that I am not one of those "$150.00 discount entertainers" that promises you a great program for a cheap price.   Please understand that NOT ALL LIBRARY PERFORMERS  ARE THE SAME!  As with anything else in life,  you'll usually get what you pay for.  When you invite to me to your library,  you can expect to pay a little more for my services and experience.  In return,  I promise to show up ON TIME and to deliver a program that will have the kids begging to check out books and looking forward to returing to the library.  Currently my library programs are $250.00 - $350.00 in most areas.  Where your library is (what city) and the date you choose will determine the amount you'll pay due to travel time.   If you choose a date where I am already in the area and close by,  you'll save some money.
