The Trick: 

The magician holds a piece of rope in his hands and closes his fingers around the ends.  The magician then shakes the rope a little bit, says a magic word, snaps his finger and drops one end of the rope.  The end that falls out of his hand now has a knot in it!

What You Will Need: 

One long piece rope about 8 inches

The Secret: 

Tie a knot in one end of the rope.  Hide this end with the knot in your hand and bring the other end of the rope up next to it so that the ends are side by side.  Shake your hand as if you're trying to knot it.  Now, drop the end with the knot already in it.  It will look like you have tied a knot in the rope using one hand.  Take a bow!
