"The Biggest Mistakes Schools Make When Hiring Assembly Presenters..... And How To Avoid Them!"
By Todd McKinney- The Magical Motivator
Dear Friend:
It is very rare for a presenter or entertainer of any kind to write this kind of report. Many entertainers, speakers, and assembly presenters do NOT want you to know the information that is contained within this FREE report. Therefore, please take the time to read it carefully. In fact, I urge you to get comfortable and take your time reading it as I think you will find it to be very important. I truly believe that this report contains vital information that you NEED to know before bringing anyone to your school.
Here we go.....
The truth is that everyday, schools hire presenters and entertainers they should not be bringing to their students. The sad fact is that many entertainers, speakers and assembly presenters will actually lie about their qualifications, charge way more than they should be charging schools and often times end up turning a school assembly into a complete embarrassment while putting your reputation on the line by presenting programs that are "not so great."
Hiring someone to not only entertain school students but also motivate and inspire them can be a very difficult task. There are so many things that you need to watch out for. The undeniable truth that you first need to realize is:
THE OVERALL SUCCESS OF A GREAT SCHOOL ASSEMBLY HINGES ON YOU HIRING THE RIGHT PRESENTER
I realize that you might not believe me for the moment as you may have never heard of me. However, I will guarantee you that after reading this report you will see and understand that I know what I am talking about. Afterall, presenting school assembly programs is what I do for a living. Yes- this is how I feed my family and clothe my kids. I can assure you that no-one lasts in the school business if their programs are not top notch.
I want you to think about something for a minute. When an assembly comes to your school, this most often involves the presenter being in front of several hundred students at a time. If you were to hire the wrong presenter (someone who is either inexperienced or inappropriate or worse, both) the students can and will walk all over them. Is wasting the school day with outdated or wrong information on the topic you are tryng to get across really worth taking a risk on? Do I have your attention?
I am now going to share the inside-scoop on what SOME presenters will do to unsuspecting schools that are looking for an assembly program for their students. The good part is that by the end of this report you are going to be armed with the knowledge you need so that your school won't be "taken" by these people who are only interested in filling in a date on their schedule. You will know exactly what to look for and what to watch out for.
At this point you may be asking yourself:
Who Are You And Why Are You Revealing Such Information?
My name is Todd McKinney and as I mentioned just a few minutes ago, I am a "full time" professional school assembly presenter. Working with school children is not a hobby for me but instead a way of life. My school presentations consists of various performing arts such as: magic, age appropriate humor, puppetry, music and audience participation. I use these performing arts to captivate children so that they stay "tuned in" during the program. The best way to put it is that students are laughing as they learn. My passion is to motivate children with valuable and important lessons that they need to know and hear about.
I have chosen to reveal the information in this report because I have heard of many horror stories from schools that could have easily been prevented if the school would have known what to look for before hiring a presenter. The two main reasons behind me writing this report are:
1. If you end up bringing in an incompetent presenter, this can easily close the field not only for me but also for other professionals who ARE good at what they do. The truth is that if a certain type of presenter presents a poor program, you may be very reluctant to ever bring in a similar presenter again in the future. Sometimes one bad apple can spoil the whole tree!
2. I cannot stand to see and hear about all of the poor presenters who go into schools every single day and present programs that end up wasting valuable school time. Trust me, I have heard about many presenters who have done a real number on schools by presenting programs that have no educational value whatsoever and no motivational message at all. What is the point of having a motivational assembly program if the presenter cannot motivate the students?
So, now that you know a little about me and why I'm writing this report. let's dive in and open your eyes to some important things you need to know.
BIG MISTAKE #1:

Basing Your Decision To Bring In A Presenter Primarily Because Of The Price
Let's begin by being honest. The fact is that every school has a budget that they must stay within when it comes to bringing in an assembly presenter. The truth is that if you've only got $100.00 to spend on an assembly, you are not going to be able to get a top notch program that will truly educate and motivate the students in your school. Through the years I've talked with many school assembly coordinators who have placed more emphasis on the price of the program rather than the overall quality and impact that the program will have on the students. It shoud be the other way around!
Does this mean that the lowest priced presenter will present a bad program or that the most expensive will have the best assembly program? Maybe, maybe not! It's always best to compare prices and take into consideration what you are getting for your investment. In other words, look at the impact that the presenter has had on other schools and how they can do the same for your students.
Would you rather spend very little and the students leave with nothing to remember and have gained nothing from the program or spend a little more and them leave motivated and have something to take with them that can really impact their future in a positive way? This is something you really need to think about!
Some school assembly presenters are perceived as a dime a dozen and therefore some people only worry about what the price tag is other than the overall value. The fact is that each presenter is unique in their own way and will bring something special with them to your school (at least that is what you hope for anyway). Some of these people are great, some are good, some mediocre, and some should never even be allowed to enter a school.
What I am trying to make you realize is that you really need to take a long look at the presenter that you are interested in and make sure that they have the qualifications to handle working with your school group. You want to make sure that your desired outcomes can be met by the presenter. In other words, if you want to educate and motivate your students about staying away from drugs during red-ribbon week, you'll want to make sure that the presenter has experience presenting this type of program. One thing that I am certain about is that when it comes to school presenters, you are going to get exactly what you pay for...period!
Beware: many presenters are so desperate for work that they will say anything and tell you anything you want to hear in hopes that you'll hire them on the spot. Many of them will tell you things that simply are not true. I've heard of many of them who promise things they cannot and will not deliver at the prorgram. One way to know if you are dealing with this type of presenter is if all they do is rave about their program and how great they are and they never take the time to answer your questons and find out what your needs and desires are. If they try anything and everything they can to "sell" you, I would be very cautious.
Take a look at it like this: if you were not feeling well and went to the doctor and you were instantly prescribed some expensive medicine that was not made to work on your symptoms, wouldn't you find another doctor? It's the same with presenters. Find one that can meet your needs while staying in your budget at the same time.
Bottom line: decide what your budget is for an assembly program, check out presenters who work within that budget and choose the best overall presenter based on their qualifications rather than their price. If your budget is very small and you end up having trouble finding someone who can work within your budget, I highly suggest that you save your money and wait until you can afford someone who is going to offer everything you desire. It is far better to have no-one at all come to your school than it is to waste your budget on someone who is not qualified to present a top notch program.
